Monastic Balance

All through the ages, monasteries have been known to contribute to harmony and balance both in the outer landscape around them and to the inner landscape of the monks and nuns who lived there.  In the Benedictine-Cistercian tradition particular elements are stressed. When these elements are present in the monastery's daily life, they contribute to the peace and harmony not only of the monks/nuns who live there, but also to all who come and visit.
